Teaching Contracts

Open Settings from the side menu bar, then Teachers > Teaching Contracts.

A Teaching Contract defines the terms a teacher works under. Set the contract types up here, then assign one to each teacher on their record.

Contract basis

The Contract Basis decides how the teacher is paid, and there are three:

Basis	How the teacher is paid
Salaried	The contract defines the hours to be worked across the year, and the teacher receives a salary
Claims	The teacher is given work and claims the hours they have done; the time claimed is what gets paid
Sub Contract	The teacher is given work and submits an invoice for it

A salaried teacher can still do work that falls outside their contract, and that work is claimed for in the usual way - so the two are not mutually exclusive in practice.

Signing

Contracts can be set to require signing, and to be re-signed on a cycle: Yearly, Termly, or whenever a teacher's FTE changes. A contract document can be uploaded against the contract type so the same paperwork is issued each time.
