Direct Debits List
Open Business Managment from the side menu bar, then Debtors > Direct Debits List.
This lists every debtor paying by direct debit, and is where the direct debit run is managed.
How direct debits work here
A direct debit is set up on the debtor's own record, where it is marked as active and given the amount to be taken. The amount is a fixed figure collected each time the run is processed, rather than a recalculation of whatever the account happens to owe that month - so a change in what someone is being charged does not change what is collected until the direct debit itself is updated.
That is the thing worth checking periodically. A pupil who has taken on extra lessons, or stopped some, will keep paying the old figure until somebody amends it, and the difference accumulates quietly on the account.
Using the list
The list gives you every active direct debit in one place, which is what makes that check practical: it is far easier to compare the collected amounts against current charges here than to open records one at a time.
