Schedule Summary
Schedule Summary is your teaching week as a list rather than a diary: one row per session, with what happened to it and how many pupils were there. Most teachers use it for catching up — it is the fastest way to see what is still unmarked and to put that right.
Where to find it: Teaching > Lesson Management > Schedule Summary
Move between weeks with the arrows either side of Start week, or type the date you want. It opens on the current week, which begins on Sunday.
What a row is
The week holds confirmed lessons that have not been made up, and your online consultation sessions alongside them. A lesson on an activity nobody has confirmed yet will not appear here — if a lesson is missing, that is the first thing to check.
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Venue and Lesson | Where it is and which activity |
| Day, Time, Duration | When, and for how long |
| Result | The task result, if one has been given |
| SLA signed | School-billed lessons only: a tick or a cross for the school's agreement. Other lessons show a dash |
| Pupils and Attendance | How many are enrolled, and how many were marked present |
Pupils against Attendance is the pair that repays a glance. A lesson with pupils and no attendance is usually one you have not marked rather than one nobody came to.
The SLA signed column only appears where your service has chosen to show it. A cross is worth knowing about before you teach: the school has lessons but has not signed for them.
What you can do from a row
- Lesson details opens the full lesson page for marking, notes and the rest.
- Pupils lists who is in the block without leaving the summary. On a school-billed lesson that allows it, you can also transfer a pupil from here.
- Present appears on a session with exactly one pupil who has no mark yet — the one-to-one case. It marks them present in a click, and applies your service's default result at the same time where it has one.
If Present does nothing
It needs a register key that means present to exist in your service. Where none is set up there is nothing for the button to apply, so it quietly does nothing rather than guessing. Mark that lesson from its own page instead, and mention it to the office.
School register
School register gives a school its week on paper. Pick the school, choose which kind, and either print it or email it:
| Completed - with each pupil's attendance | The week as you marked it |
| Blank - to fill in | The same register with the marks left empty |
Print or save PDF opens it in a new tab, where you can print it or save it. (If your browser blocks the new tab it downloads instead.)
Email to school takes you to Contact School with the work already done: that school's people ticked, the subject filled in as Register for the week commencing dd/mm/yyyy, and the register itself attached. Write your covering note and send.
The blank one is the useful one for a cover lesson
Print a blank register for the week and whoever covers you has something to fill in on paper, with the right pupils in the right lessons. The completed one is for a school that wants a record of what happened.
What is on it. Each lesson you teach at that school that week, and under it each pupil's name, school year and mark — and nothing else. The mark is the register key you gave, or Not marked; a cancelled lesson's pupils show no mark at all. It is deliberately the minimum a school needs, so it can be left on a desk.
If the school has nothing for you that week, or you have never taught there, it says so rather than giving you an empty PDF.
Activity Type Breakdown
Under the week's sessions, where you have a teaching contract, is the week's time broken down by contract and then by activity type, with a total. Open a contract row to see the activities inside it.
This is the week's minutes, counted from the sessions above. It is the quickest check that a week is contracted as you expect it to be — and if it is not, the place to look next is your contract breakdown, which does the same thing for the whole year.
Line managers
If you manage other teachers, Select teacher appears beside the week and lists your team. Pick somebody and you see their week exactly as they do.
You can look, but the actions stay theirs
A team member's week is read-only. Lesson details, Pupils and Present are the teacher's own, so you cannot mark a colleague's register from here, and School register is not offered on their week — their schools are theirs to write to. Chase it rather than doing it for them — the register is a record of who taught the lesson.
