My Schedules
My Schedules is your family's diary: lessons, events, consultations, auditions and exams, in a week or calendar view. It is read-only — the service and the teacher set the timetable — but clicking a lesson opens everything you can do about it.
Where to find it: My Schedules
Opening a lesson
Clicking a lesson shows the pupil's lesson and their attendance so far, and gives you three things:
- Message the teacher — about that lesson, so the teacher knows which one you mean.
- Notify an absence — tell the teacher in advance that your child will not be there. This is better than a message, because it goes onto the register rather than relying on somebody reading an inbox before the lesson.
- Notes — anything you want recorded against the lesson.
Notifying an absence
You are asked which pupil, which upcoming lesson, and the reason. The reason comes from a list your service sets up, and the choice matters: some reasons count differently from others when the service looks at attendance, and an absence told in advance is treated differently from one nobody mentioned.
Tell them before, not after
An absence notified in advance reaches the teacher before they travel, and on some services affects whether the lesson is chargeable or can be made up. Afterwards, it is only a record.
Your own calendar
Where your service publishes calendars, you can take the diary into your own calendar app so lessons sit alongside everything else in your week. That is worth doing at the start of a term — it is the simplest way to stop a lesson being missed because nobody looked at the Portal.
