Applications
Where your organisation puts pupils forward for tuition itself, rather than leaving families to apply, this is where you do it and where you see how those applications are getting on.
Where to find it: reached from Enrol in organisation mode
Choose the academic year first — applications belong to a year, and the commonest confusion here is looking at the wrong one.
What each application shows
| Column | |
|---|---|
| Name | The pupil |
| Activity | What they have been put forward for |
| School Year | Their year |
| Status | Where the application has got to |
| Subject | What they would learn |
| Applied By | Who made the application |
Applied By is worth noticing when several colleagues can apply: it tells you whether an application came from your organisation or from the family themselves.
View pupil opens the pupil behind the row.
Removing an application
Remove deletes the application.
Deleting an application does not delete the pupil
The page says so when you confirm, and it is the thing people worry about. You are withdrawing the request for tuition, not removing the child from your organisation's records — their details, and any other applications or lessons, are untouched.
You are asked to confirm, so a mis-click costs nothing.
Adding pupils to an activity
Where your organisation runs an activity with the service, you can add pupils to it directly for a given year rather than applying one at a time. That is the route for a class or an ensemble that your organisation fills itself.
Pupils added this way appear on the teacher's register from then on, so it is worth doing before the first session rather than after.
What happens next
An application you have made goes to the service, and then to a teacher, who considers it and makes an offer. You can follow that on the waiting list, which shows the same applications as they move through being considered, offered and accepted or declined.
