Courses
A course is a path through this guide with a test at the end of each section. It is free, you take it at your own pace, and what you learn is the same material the rest of the guide holds — arranged in the order somebody new to Xperios needs it rather than by screen.
Where you take it: Xperios Fusion > Training
The Training band lists the sections with your progress against each one. Read this section opens that lesson here in the guide; Take the test asks the questions and marks them.
Xperios Essentials
Seven sections, about 70 minutes of reading in total, covering the parts of Xperios everybody uses whatever your service runs.
| Section | About | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Finding your way | How the product is laid out, and how every screen in it behaves |
| 2 | Contacts — one person, one record | Why everybody is one record, how to find them, and how to read what they are to your service |
| 3 | Your working day | Tasks, Notifications and Issues — the three places Xperios tells you something is waiting |
| 4 | Asking the data a question | What a query is, why parameters matter, and how to get one that does not exist yet |
| 5 | Getting it out — Reports and Dashboards | Choosing between a query, a report and a dashboard, and sending a report out on its own |
| 6 | What parents and schools see | The three lists that shape your Portal catalogue |
| 7 | Loading and tidying data | Importing from a spreadsheet, joining duplicate records, and erasing somebody properly |
How a section works
Each one is built the same way, and the shape is worth knowing because it tells you what you are expected to take away:
| What you will be able to do | Listed at the top, before anything is explained. If those are things you can already do, skip the section and take its test |
| The explanation | The screens, in order, with the same screenshots the guide uses |
| The recap | A few lines holding what matters |
| The test | Multiple choice, marked straight away |
The recap is what the test asks about
Every question can be answered from that section's recap alone. So if you are revising, or you came back to pass a test you missed, read the recap rather than the whole section again.
The test, and what you get for passing
You need 80%. Get less and you are told so, along with which questions you got wrong and the right answer to each — then take it again, as often as you like. Marking happens in Xperios rather than in your browser.
When you have passed every section, your award is held on your Paritor Identity, with the date you earned it, and it appears on your Fusion home screen. Because it is on your Identity rather than on your record at one service, it follows you if you move service.
It is ours, not an external qualification
The award is Paritor's own — a record that you know your way around the product. We make no accreditation claim for it.
Reading a lesson on its own
Nothing stops you reading these pages without taking the course: a lesson is just a guided walk through screens the guide documents anyway, so section 2 is a reasonable way to learn contacts even if nobody is asking you to pass anything. The test is the only part that needs Xperios.
