Confirm Lessons
Confirm Lessons is where your organisation says whether the lessons the service has recorded actually happened. The page is headed Lessons requiring confirmation, and it is the most consequential thing on the organisation menu after signing an agreement: what you confirm here is what the service bills you for.
Where to find it: Organisation Account > Confirm Lessons
Choose the academic year at the top. If there is nothing waiting, the page says no records found, which is where you want to be.
What each row shows
| Column | |
|---|---|
| Confirmed | Tick to agree the lesson happened as recorded |
| Disputed | Tick to say it did not |
| Teacher and Lesson | Who taught what |
| Session | Which session of the block it was |
| Start Date | When it was |
| Task Result | The outcome the teacher gave it, and underneath, in grey, the reason where they gave one |
| Disputed Reason | Your explanation, where you are disputing |
Read the reason under the task result
Where a lesson was not delivered, the teacher can leave a short reason meant for you — a closure, a clash, an absence. It sits in grey under the outcome. Reading it first saves most disputes: the explanation you were about to ask for is usually already there.
Confirming and disputing
Work down the list ticking Confirmed or Disputed, then Update Batch to save the lot in one go. You do not have to answer everything at once — what you leave untouched stays waiting.
If you dispute a lesson, say why in Disputed Reason. A dispute with no explanation simply comes back to you as a question, so the sentence saves a round trip. Be specific: "school closed for an INSET day" is actionable, "didn't happen" is not.
When you cannot tick anything
If the boxes are disabled, your organisation is not set up to confirm lessons on the Portal, and the page tells you so. The list is then there for information — you can see what the service has recorded, but the confirming happens another way. Speak to the office if you think it should be yours.
Not everybody linked to an organisation can confirm, either. If a colleague can and you cannot, that is set against each person under Associations.
Unconfirmed lessons hold up more than invoicing
A lesson nobody has confirmed can also sit in the way of teachers' pay claims and of the service closing off a term. If the list is long, it is worth half an hour rather than leaving it to build — and the service would far rather have a dispute now than an argument about an invoice later.
