My Consultations
My Consultations is where you book a time to see your child's teacher. It is on the menu where your service runs consultations.
Where to find it: My Consultations
What is open to you
The page lists a line per pupil and activity:
| Column | |
|---|---|
| Pupil | Which child |
| Date | When the consultation event runs |
| Event | What it is |
| Activity | The lessons it is about |
| Teacher | Who you would be seeing |
If there is nothing, you are told no available sessions — either no event is open at the moment, or your children's teachers have not put times up yet.
Opening a line shows the event's dates, the teacher, and the times they are offering.
Booking a time
Each session shows its slots. What you can do with one depends on what it is:
| Free | Yours to book |
| Yours | Your child's booking — this is the one you can cancel |
| Taken | Somebody else has it. You see that it is taken, not who has it |
| Started | The time has begun, so nothing can be done with it |
A slot held by one of your other children says booked for name — so you can see your own family's bookings across the event and avoid giving yourself two appointments at once.
If a session has nothing left, it says no timeslots available. Where a teacher is fully booked, ask the service: they can sometimes add a session.
Booking a second slot moves your first one
A pupil has one booking per event. Booking a different time replaces the booking you already had rather than adding to it — the dialog tells you which time it is about to give up. That is usually what you want, but it does mean there is no way to hold two slots "just in case".
Cancelling
Cancel removes your booking, and you can do it right up until the slot starts. Once it has started, the option goes.
If you cannot make it, cancelling is much better than simply not turning up: the slot goes back into the list for another family, and the teacher is not left waiting. A missed appointment is recorded as missed.
