My Activities

My Activities is everything your family has applied for or is doing — a card per activity, for one academic year at a time — and it is where you answer an offer.

Where to find it: My Activities

Choose the academic year at the top. Your registered interests — things you have said you would like but not applied for — are listed too.

What a card tells you

ActivityWhat it is
StatusWhere it has got to: applied, offered, accepted, and so on
Venue and TeacherWhere, and who
Type and Time slotThe kind of lesson, and when
DurationIn minutes

Two states are called out in their own right: Transferred, where the activity has been moved to another lesson, and Withdrawn.

Answering an offer

When a place has been offered, the card carries the buttons to answer it. You may see:

AcceptTake the place. Where there is something to pay, this leads into the payment
RejectTurn it down
Book free sessionWhere the service offers one, take a session before deciding

An offer does not wait indefinitely

Offers expire. Where your service sets a time limit, an offer you do not answer declines itself — and the place can then go to somebody else on the waiting list. If you are unsure, it is better to ask the service than to leave it.

Changing something you already have

Depending on the activity and how your service is set up, a card may also offer:

Amend applicationChange the details — subject, pricing, level and so on
Request switchAsk to move to a different lesson or teacher
Request hireAsk to borrow an instrument for it
Request cancel application / CancelAsk to stop, or cancel outright

The difference between Cancel and Request cancel is who decides. Cancelling is something you can do yourself; a request goes to the service, because lessons that have started involve a teacher's timetable and, usually, money already invoiced.

Stopping lessons is not the same as stopping the bill

Asking to cancel does not automatically cancel what has already been invoiced, and notice periods may apply. If you are stopping because of cost, say so when you ask — the service can often help, and My Finance will show you exactly what is outstanding.

Where you were asked for evidence — for a remission or a subsidy — and did not have it at the time, the card lets you upload it late rather than starting the application again.
