Contact Admin
Contact Admin sends a message to the office. It is the counterpart to Contact School: that one writes to a school you teach at, this one writes to your own service's staff.
Where to find it: Teaching > Teacher Admin > Contact Admin
Sending one
- Tick who it goes to from the list of office staff. Select all takes everybody, and becomes Unselect all once it has.
- Give it a Subject and a Message.
- Attach a file if you need to. Attachments are listed as you add them, each with Remove if you change your mind.
- Send, then confirm. You are asked to confirm because each person gets their own message and thread, and the attachments are only uploaded at that point.
Afterwards you are told who it reached, and anybody it could not reach is listed with the reason. Read that line rather than assuming it all went: a message that reached four of five people looks exactly like one that reached everybody until you do.
The list is the office staff your service has made available to teachers. If you teach nothing from today onwards the list is empty, so there is nobody to write to here — use another route. Nobody's email address is read or shown either way.
Pick the person, not everybody
Select all is there for the message that genuinely concerns the whole office. Most do not, and a message sent to everybody tends to be answered by nobody. Where you know whose job it is, tick just them.
Messages sent here arrive as secure messages, so the reply comes back to your Messages rather than to your email — worth knowing if you are waiting on an answer.
