Instruments and equipment out on hire, at every stage of getting there.

Each stage has its own list, so nothing is left waiting unnoticed.

Pupils and organisations are kept apart because the work is different: chasing a parent to collect a cello is not the same job as delivering thirty instruments to a school, and mixing them makes both lists harder to clear.

The stages

A hire is agreed first — somebody is going to hire an instrument. At that point no specific instrument is involved.

It is then assigned: a particular instrument, with its own reference, is set aside for them.

It is then collected or delivered, and becomes a hire that is out.

Finally it is returned.

The two middle lists exist because those are the stages where things stall. An agreed hire with nothing assigned, or an assigned instrument nobody has collected, is invisible on a list of hires that are out.

Funding

Hire Remission/Subsidy Requests works exactly as the tuition queue does, against hire charges rather than tuition. Hire is charged separately, so somebody may qualify for help with one and not the other.

Chasing an unanswered offer

A hire offer that nobody answers can be reminded automatically.

Set Offer Notification Frequency on the hire's service type to the number of days to leave between reminders. Xperios then re-sends the offer that often until it is answered, timing each one from the last message actually sent rather than from the offer date.

A frequency of 0 means no reminders — that is the default, so nothing starts chasing on your behalf until you ask it to.

Only hires that stand alone

A hire applied for alongside tuition is reminded with the tuition offer, so it is left out of this. These reminders are for hires that were asked for on their own.
